Vertebrae segmentation on CT

This spine segmentation on CT outlines each vertebral body from C1 to L5. TotalSegmentator runs a dedicated model with added postprocessing, which makes fewer level swaps than the vertebra classes of its full body AI task. Researchers use it to name every level in a large cohort, compare Hounsfield values from one vertebra to the next, and place other measurements at the same level in every participant. On PET or SPECT, uptake can be read level by level, for reference values of normal vertebral uptake.
