Couinaud liver segments on MRI

The Couinaud classification divides the liver into eight segments: caudate lobe (1), left lateral (2 and 3), left medial (4), right anterior (5 and 8), and right posterior (6 and 7). TotalSegmentator MRI outlines all eight on MRI scans, so studies of liver segmentation on MRI can compare volume and signal from one segment to the next.

Find answers to research questions like: Do MRI values differ between segments in the same person? Do all segments change by the same amount between two visits? How well does one segment stand in for the whole liver?
